🎥 Watched The Creator.

It’s a few decades from today, where humans, of course, gave up many of their former responsibilties to AI powered robots. Unfortunately, there was a nuclear disaster, killing huge numbers of people, which was attributed to said AI. Certain parts of humanity - particularly the US - thus declared war on AI. In a literal sense here, given the prevalence of armed AI humanoid robots.

Our hero Josh, a well trained military operative who is greiving his wife to the extent he’s not all that much to lose, is recruited to go behind enemy lines to kill “the Creator”, before their creation, an AI superweapon, is deployed.

But, no spoilers, things are not necessarily found to be as assumed.

It’s visually very impressive, in the way that Blade Runner vibes films can be when done well. Very spectacular, very immersive. And sits a bit differently than it would have a few years ago given the IRL debate about and deployment of increasingly autonomous AI powered weapons, even whilst it’s a typical sci-fi action movie in many ways.
