Well this is an unexpectedly pleasing result from yesterday’s Gorton and Denton by-election.
Maybe there are fragments of hope to be had, even in 2026.
The Reform candidate, Goodwin, was a particularly loathsome man, even by the standards of the average greedy, power-crazed, working-class-hating, obsequious friend of authoritarian billionaires that is the average high-up in Reform PLC.
I’m grateful to the 71% of Gorton and Denton voters that opposed him for keeping for keeping him as far away from the levers of power as possible.
